We in the Midwest: Juke Vs Witch House: Nothing is Real and Everything is Awesome
Genres are nothing but artificial constructs, but then again what isn’t, amirite? Is juke a real thing or just a word dummies use to describe ghetto house? Is witch house something Pitchfork created to further the already over-segmented world of dark music/rock music/lo-fi music or is it a point of coming together of for people who adhere to a series of aesthetics not addressed by prior simplifications like goth?
A little bit of me thinking too much and a lot of great, free, new music from DJ Rashad, DJ Spinn, Hollywood Holt, SSION, Juiceboxxx, Dirty Diamonds, and Starfoxxx.

GlitterGuts is all about soul music. Northern soul, southern soul, mod soul, blue-eyed soul, psychedelic soul, Vegas grind, Philly soul, Motown, Stax, Chess, neosoul, doo wop, funk, R&B, Bobby Brown-and-Boyz II Men-and-Bel Biv Devoe-style new jack swing and whatever the hell you wanna call the crazy crap R. Kelly Does.
After two years of waiting to hook up with some soul parties, and nothing coming together we’ve finally decided to throw a couple of our own. We’re starting August with an 18+ soul dance party in Pilsen and ending it with a 21+ event at Late Bar.

The End of the World Dance Party has been laying low for a while, and it’s coming back with a vengeance. The Neon Apocalypse is a plastic fantastic party dedicated to the joys of fabrication, nihilism, bright colors, loud music and sex.

Home to some of the best food and worst politicians in the nation. New types of theatre, comedy, and literature were born here.
