I don’t know what anyone expected going in to Dead Fame, which Midnight Conspiracy had been building up to with a monthlong US tour, but it turned into a spectacular potluck rave. Logan Square’s Site & Sound added to the Bottom Lounge’s already impressive lighting setup with a handful of stagelights and LEDs, our friends The Chaotic Good brought out their giant dancing robot, Anjali Bahl and Rachel Cable brought out a glamour and gore makeup station, Custom Vibes brought out their whole posse to celebrate their third anniversary, and a few hundred kids from the new school (which is so much more into raving like it’s 1996 than you can realize if you’re not around teenagers) brought out a shit ton of LED gloves, LED poi, LED yo-yos, glowsticks, hula hoops, candy jewelry, pacifiers, and MDMA.
