In Living Color

Any night where I can hear Crucial Conflict, SWV, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, and a 1992 Wayne’s World-style “Bohemian Rhapsody” singalong in the same set is a night for me. In Living Color was the second edition of Yea Man!’s monthly nineties party at Beauty Bar. The night featured DJ sets by Hollywood Holt, Team Bayside High, and Disco Death Threat—the latter doing a tag team set of acid house and guilty pleasure hip hop. Kelly Cardenas Salon had a pop-up makeover station, Hey! Cliche! Video Club handled the visuals, and Lipstick Dinosaur provided ridiculous 90s fashion for people who didn’t come prepared.
