Turbo Hot
I was reading somewhere that after a long time in the closet, the Southside is starting to develop a gay scene independent of the one in Lakeview and Andersonville. Maybe I wasn’t reading it. Maybe I heard it, or maybe I just noticed it (frivolous party blogger here, not doing a lot of research).
One of the places where it’s thriving is at the Myour House, a Bronzeville party space that opened up a few months ago, where we tend to frequent.
In honor of Pride weekend and the Chicago Dyke March (an annual, rotating event that takes place a day before Pride, which just celebrated its second year on the South Side), the Myour crew got togethor with Avant Trill to throw the Turbo Hot Dance Party.
Pure Magical Love brought out the naked zombies and the glitter, Tomtomtomboy kicked a live ghettotech set, Myour resident Mars Dynamo kicked some call-and-response electrorap with her partner Arche, and djs Harlot, Butch Cassidy, and Jobot were on hand to get the crowd sweaty.
