Upcoming shows: Southside Shakedown with Ghetto Division

It’s time for another installment of the Southside Shakedown, this time featuring Brooklyn’s KINGDOM.
The first Southside Shakedown came as a complete surprise. Despite playing all over the world with some of the biggest names in dance music, Ghetto Division haven’t had many shots at legitimate clubs on the Northside. No one was sure how the show was going to go, even with a headliner like DJ Sega.
The show defied expectations. They filled the Metro to capacity, which is to say ELEVEN HUNDRED sweaty bodies crowding the dance floor and hanging over the balcony. The night was full of bmore, juke, electro, and dubstep. DJ Sega threw down a mini set of rock/metal remixes (that included 90s radio staples like Marilyn Manson and Nirvana, and even made that horrible Papa Roach song “Last Resort” sound kinda like a JAM) that brought the house down. There was four-on-the-floor juking AND some sustained body surfing happening all at the same time. Breakdancers almost knocked my backdrop rig several times.
The next one’s goin down much like the first. It’s an 18+ show. It starts at 11:30pm. Before 12:30, admission is only $6 (after, it jumps to $8) and the first 250 people through the door get in free. Broken Disco is back for another round, plus Goldar and Delacutti have been added to the bill. If you don’t think you’ll get in early, then you can get cheap presale tix from the Metro box office.
