So… I do something silly. Lots of things really, but only one professionally. I take portraits of (primarily) drunks at bars. I guess there’s also the occasional naked girl or band promo shot when I’m not photoboothing, and not all the photobooths take place at bars (and not everyone who takes photos is drunk and blah blah blah, but seeing as I’m always looking for a magical digital cure for wasted-face, I’m going to go out on a limb and say there’s no shortage of drunks).

So yeah. I do something silly, and most of my family is completely bewildered by it, but the thing they bring up the most is The Porn and Chicken Dance Party, an event I shoot every other Monday at Evil Olive. I’m not sure what’s not to get. It’s all right there in the title. The tvs are all showing porn, there’s fried chicken being served, and it’s a dance party. Occasionally there’s burlesque or bands or strippers, often there’s costumes and a theme, and every week there’s a team of videographers shooting the proceedings.

I thought I’d include some of those videos, (1) because I usually hide from camcorders so there’s not a lot of moving-picture proof that I (or GlitterGuts) exist, (2) because Orville Kline (aka Orvtronixxx) puts together these awesome little promo videos that encapsulate the night and what the party’s all about, and (3) so that my family will get off my back a little bit.

Also, it’s kinda cool to see how different the perspective of the party is from the dance floor versus the photobooth (so many naked people, don’t the naked people know I fully support that?)
