Brew Not Bombs with Defiance OH, This Bike is a Pipe Bomb, and Screaming Females

Brew Not Bombs gets bigger and bigger every year. What started in a garage just a couple years ago, filled the Portage Theater with over a thousand rowdy, thirsty fans of punk rock, hops and barley. Over a dozen local homebrewers were on hand to showcase their wares (personal favorites of mine were Quasimodo, Blaxploitation, the porter with jalapenos in it, and one of the meads I didn’t catch the name of.
This Bike is a Pipe Bomb and Defiance Ohio both came back after rocking the fest last year, alongside Shellshag, 97-Shiki, The Arrivals, Screaming Females, So Cow and the Slow Death. Dave Mata (of Soul Summit and Impala Sound) spun records in between, and found footage connoisseurs Everything Is Terrible connected everything with a series of weird videos that were almost lost to the ages (and in many cases probably should have been).
As always, it’s great to be somewhere with live guitars and drum kits, which doesn’t hapen enough for me these days, and even better when there’s an electric violin thrown in.
