C’est Dommage

I don’t know if you read the Chicago edition of MyOpenBar but I feel like it’s gotten much cheekier over the last year. From a recent edition:
Somehow, semi-professional portrait photography has become as common as herpes at these kinds of parties — only less subtle.
And in the listing for C’est Dommage:
Okay, so this is a French-themed masquerade party at a Brazillian sushi joint with “Exotica Lounge World Beat Disco Latin Brasil Favela Funk French Pop and more”. I’m usually all about muticulturalism, but this just makes me fantasize about the soothing purity we’d all be enjoying right now if the Nazis had won.
I don’t know if being Jewish gives me carte blanche to laugh at Hitler jokes, but I thought it was cute. Working with the cats at White Label is like opening a door to a different world, a la Coraline or Return to Oz, or anything else from Henry Selick’s career, but instead of monsters, it’s full of all these suave ass multiethnic, multiculti cats who dress well, frequent lounges, and rarely set foot in the dank rooms I call home. I’m kinda hoping that there’s a future for me in this world, that the choices aren’t just black and white, where I either retire and stop partying, or become the weird old guy that keeps showing up with his camera. Maybe…for me… there’s this.
