Lollapalooza Day Three
Posted on August 9th, 2009 by admin
Day Three was our Goldilocks day at Lollapalooza. We dressed right for the weather, we worked in shifts that allowed me to watch Dan Deacon from backstage, Meagan to have a meaningful conversation about salad dressing with the Raveonettes, and Menace to pass off a painting to Snoop Dogg. An impending thunderstorm that threatened to shut down the fest early veered out across the lake, and we had our good friends DJ Demchuk, Ceci Superlover, and Marcus Foster chillin in the booth for most of the day.
Because of our spot in the Lolla Lounge South, we weren’t able to get across the park much to see the likes of Lou Reed, Crookers, Jane’s Addiction, Deadmau5, or Neko Case, but we had the Snoop reaching back in his catalogue for some songs I wouldn’t have expected (“Afro Puffs” with the Lady Rage and a cover of “House of Pain’s Jump Around”???), Dan Deacon bringing out Providence’s What Cheer? Brigade to back up his already impressive ensemble, and some sexy chill daytime sets from Bat for Lashes and Ra Ra Riot.
Good times all in all. I’m pretty sure Lollapalooza signed on to stay in Chi City for a few more years, so hopefully we’ll be back in 2010, runnin’ game and takin’ pics of everybody.
Continued love to Meagan Fredette for holding it down. Check out some of her work at myspace. Continued love to my old pal Menace for designing the backdrop and giving the people in and around our tent something to look at. Check out some of his work at novemlife.com, and the shop at novemshop.com.
If you’re looking at this site with your kids, you might want to preview any other galleries if you decide to look at them. We photograph a wide variety of events and not all of our pictures are appropriate for young eyes.
