Yollocalli, derived from an Aztec nahuatl phrase meaning heart of the house, or an interior where emotions and noble thoughts flourish, is a fantastic arts program for teens and young adults in Pilsen, whose murals are responsible for, apparently, half of the instagram pictures I’ve taken in my own neighborhood. It was our pleasure to shoot Yollocalli’s fundraiser at Revolution Brewing the other night, with all of Revolution’s fantastic beers and soul music provided by Kevin Jones, Brenda Hernandez, and The Emerald City Soul Club’s Alvin Mongosing.
